Meet Bathroom Designer, David
We caught up with David, one of our bathroom designers based at the Bristol showroom, to talk about his background, favourite design trends and what he enjoys most about helping customers create their dream bathrooms.
How long have you been with Gardiner Haskins Interiors?
I’ve been with Gardiner Haskins Interiors for over eight years now. During that time I’ve worked with a wide variety of customers and projects, which is one of the things I enjoy most about the role. Every bathroom and every home is different, so no two designs are ever the same.
What was your background before becoming a bathroom designer?
I studied Property Development & Planning at UWE and I then worked in property development and the mainstream DIY sector. That gave me a really solid understanding of home renovation and construction, which is incredibly helpful when designing bathrooms.
Working in a design-led environment like this has allowed me to focus on creating spaces that are both practical and visually impressive.
Have you ever renovated your own home?
Yes - I’ve recently gone through my own home renovation. It gave me a completely new perspective on what our customers experience.
From planning layouts and selecting products to installation and finishing touches, I’ve experienced the same decisions and challenges that homeowners face. It’s helped me bring even more practical advice and understanding to the design process.
Are there any bathroom trends you’re particularly enjoying right now?
One of my favourite trends at the moment is using Ca' Pietra designer tiles.
They’re bold, beautifully made and can completely transform a bathroom. Whether it’s a patterned floor, a feature shower wall or a striking splashback, they allow us to introduce colour and personality into the space.
What makes Gardiner Haskins Interiors different?
We’re a local, independent specialist with over 200 years of heritage in Bristol, which is something we’re really proud of.
Our showroom is designed to inspire customers with full room displays and working layouts, helping people visualise what’s possible in their own homes. We also carefully select the brands we work with, ensuring quality products and reliable guarantees.
What can customers expect when they visit the showroom?
A personalised experience. We take time to understand how customers use their space, what styles they like and what practical features they need.
From initial ideas through to the finished design, our goal is to create bathrooms that work beautifully in everyday life.
